HealthTechLaunching

CommsCo, a B2B PR agency for challenger brands, is launching Accelerator, a division for innovative tech developments coming from UK universities.

Since the pandemic, the company has launched three such university spinouts, including Aegiq, Navenio and Weaver Labs. Areas of deep tech include Web3, Quantum and HealthTech.

The agency is a preferred choice of many university hubs for its flexibility and scaling proposition to support seed funded ventures. The team provides tech startups with a full service marketing and PR function which enables them to establish their brand relatively quickly in an affordable way.

“We started working with CommsCo soon after we established the company,” said Max Sich, co-founder and CEO of Aegiq. “We operate in a challenging sector where both technology (quantum tech) and the company are not commonly known.

“The team at CommsCo is very agile and took the bulk of heavy lifting on themselves to drive PR opportunities but also to support all events and press releases. In fact, the very first press release we did together straight away put Aegiq on the map in the quantum tech sector.

“We are very satisfied with the results so far.”

Leah Jones, deputy MD at CommsCo, added: “From quantum to blockchain, the CommsCo team is passionate about elevating the profiles of tech startups – especially those that have spun out of UK universities.

“Some of the biggest UK tech companies started as a university spinout, and needed PR expertise to grow their awareness with investors, talent and potential customers.”
