Sally Jones has been appointed the first British Venture Partner at Proptech1 Ventures, also known as PT1.

The arrival of the former head of strategy, digital & technology at British Land expands the UK presence of the VC platform for transformative real estate technologies, which made its first investment here two years ago.

To date it has invested in UK firms Desana, a flexible workspace platform; FloodFlash, behind climate risk insurance; Ontik, a digital trade credit platform; and Climate X, a platform for global climate risk data analytics.

PT1, which is based in Berlin with satellite offices around Europe, now has four full-time employees on the ground in its London office. Kingma Ma, PT1 MD UK, was recently elected to the board of the UK PropTech Association and is also part of the Solutions & Innovation Advisory Group of the UK Green Building Council.

British Land is one of the largest property development and investment companies in the UK. Founded in 1856 in London, it owns or manages a portfolio of commercial properties valued at £14.1 billion, making it one of Europe’s largest listed real estate investment companies. 

Jones is also non-executive director at the tenant experience platform Equiem after serving as a member of the advisory board at WiredScore, a global certification for technology in the built world.
