ECI Partners has expanded the capabilities of its commercial team with the appointment of growth specialist Badr Khan.

Khan is a highly experienced board level technology advisor, with previous roles at Marks & Spencer, Matches Fashion and Auction Technology Group.

He was part of the leadership team at Auction Technology Group while ECI was invested, which subsequently exited to TA Associates, conducting large-scale M&A and listing on LSE.

Khan has been helping ECI – a growth-focused mid-market private equity firm – assess potential investment opportunities, as well as working on projects across ECI and its portfolio, and is a non-executive director at CIPHR.

ECI’s growth specialists are a panel of independent experts, available as needed to support portfolio management teams on projects that drive value within key focus areas. This new hire follows the appointment of Lesley Davies and Chris Ginnelly as growth specialists focussed on people & culture and sales & marketing respectively.

“Badr’s ability to make these links to help us drive better investment and portfolio growth decisions has been highly valuable in the work we have done together, and we look forward to continue working with him as part of the Growth Specialist Panel.”

Khan said: “ECI’s commitment to technology as a lever for business growth perfectly aligns with my passion and expertise.

“I am thrilled to build on our relationship by joining the growth specialist panel and look forward to collaborating with ECI’s exceptional teams to help drive innovation and growth across the portfolio.”
