Rory Pughe-Morgan has joined Verv, a start-up leveraging patented technology powered by AI and machine learning for the built environment. This technology allows appliances’ energy usage to be monitored, optimised, and even detect faults before they occur.  He previously worked  at Orka Technology Group as head of sales and marketing. He said: “It’s been a fantastic few weeks, with plenty to learn from our incredibly talented commercial, data, and engineering teams. It’s clear Verv is on the cusp of something very exciting, and I look forward to being on this journey with them.”

EdenFiftyOne

Sophia Riley has started a new role at EdTech platform EdenFiftyOne in charge of campaigns and communications. She previously worked at EdTech Supplywell.  She said: “Startup land is a territory I enjoy, that feeling of being a part of a small team with a big dream, all working towards a world-changing mission with some innovative tech to back it up. I love it.”

Archive360

Ex-EVP of sales at wejo Chris Hasenbein has been appointed chief revenue officer of Archive360. Co-founder Robert DeSteno has been elevated to the role of executive chairman, and Jerry Caviston has been named CEO. Hasenbein said: “In my first six months at A360 I’ve have been beyond impressed by the level of talent from our entire executive team, to former colleagues and customers, and to our latest hires we have been fortunate enough to attract to join us. We bring a unique DNA and culture where we prioritize our employees, partners, and our customers to achieve amazing outcomes.”

Matillion

Data productivity company Matillion has appointed cloud veteran and former AWS executive Eric Benson as its new chief revenue officer (CRO). Benson takes on the CRO role at the Manchester-based unicorn having spent more than 10 years at AWS in multiple senior executive roles including enterprise sales, business development, and digital native strategy. Benson said: “I could not be more excited to join Matillion. The role presents the perfect combination of technology, people and culture, making it an easy decision to join particularly as we move beyond the hype of artificial intelligence to real-world use cases. With the explosion of data in the enterprise and rise of AI, Matillion is well positioned to execute and innovate for the future.” More recently, Benson served as VP of Americas cloud sales at VMware where he established partnerships with Microsoft and Google, and expanded the AWS partnership resulting in revenue growth from $60m to over $350m.

SmartSearch

SmartSearch, a provider of digital compliance and anti-money laundering solutions, has appointed Phil Cotter to the position of CEO after Triple Private Equity took a majority stake in the company. Cotter, who has held senior positions at the London Stock Exchange Group, Refinitiv, Thomson Reuters and Experian, has been working as an external advisor to Triple and has worked with Triple’s founding partner, Ben Shepherd, for several years. It follows the decision of outgoing CEO Guy Harrison to move on to take on a new opportunity “closer to home”.

Infogrid

Infogrid – a smart platform to automate and optimise facilities management which featured on our sister publication BusinessCloud’s most recent PropTech 50 ranking – has appointed a new CEO in Kate Henningsen. Henningsen co-founded US unicorn Arcadia in 2015 and served as COO for almost a decade. Infogrid raised more than £70m in a Series B round last year.

Lori Hoinkes will have the tough task of succeeding Shaun Hinds as CEO of Manchester Central. She was most recently chief growth officer at Montgomery Group
