Green FinTech entrepreneurs Peter Kirby and Will Smith are the joint winners of the latest TechBlast Star of the Week award.
The co-founders of the startup Tred use technology to track a user’s carbon footprint with the aim of tackling climate change.
Users will be able to choose a physical debit card, using recycled plastic or a digital payment platform like Apple Pay.
The debit card monitors daily spending but Kirby and Smith want to go one step further and help people with their investments and savings too.
Kirby said: “It’s amazing that Tred has won the TechBlast Star of the Week award.
“It’s great to see so many people joining us on our mission to let their debit card tackle climate change.
“But the debit card will just be the beginning. Soon we’ll help people save the planet with everything they do with their money.
“Positive news stories like this help us get the Tred story out there to even more people. Thank you TechBlast!”
