Who?

Founder Angelina Liparteliani is a digital marketing and social media professional with experience at the likes of Johnson & Johnson and Philip Morris International.

Why?

Liparteliani (below) founded GLAMLAB after conducting research as part of her international marketing master’s degree at Coventry University which uncovered issues experienced by freelancers in the beauty industry. It showed that many have difficulty in finding clients while almost half had resorted to social media bookings due to lack of a ‘trustworthy’ appointment management tool.

What?

The Software-as-a-Service startup helps UK mobile makeup artists and hairstylists to get connected to clients and book them in. Having already built a pre-launch community of 15,000 followers across all social accounts and more than 250+ active freelancers on its waitlist, it is off to a flying start.

How?

Beauty freelancers registered with the platform can list their services; automate bookings; process cancellations; and receive secure payments on time.

Launching: Kompozable – delivering data solutions for enterprise

Where?

GLAMLAB is based in London. While it is focused on the capital for now, the website is open for registrations of specialists in other UK locations.

They say:

Liparteliani: “Makeup and everything related to the beauty industry have always been my passion. When I saw an opportunity and a need to create something useful for the industry, I could not pass it up.

“Launching a business just after a global pandemic perhaps isn’t an ideal scenario; however, we’ve discovered the new needs of the industry and an increased amount of freelancers that would benefit from GLAMLAB.

We set a purpose to create a service that focuses on freelancer satisfaction as much as it focuses on that of their clients. We are very excited to see this vision come to life.”
