One of our promising early-stage Manchester Startups 2.0 companies has been handed the Trailblazing Tech Award by pro-manchester.
GigPig is a live music marketplace providing venues of all sizes with a streamlined way to search, book and manage entertainment in-house, while offering artists a free platform to find, play and get paid for gigs.
It launched in 2022 with pre-seed investment and already represents more than 3,500 artists and 600 venues nationwide.
GigPig claims to provide venues with a secure platform to discover, book and manage live music for up to 90% less than the standard industry cost – allowing them to showcase local artists – by cutting out third-party agents.
The Trailblazing Tech conference held in June at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester gave it the opportunity to showcase its product with a full demonstration. The vote went to the audience and GigPig was voted the winner against Leafyard and Boodil, the latter of which also appeared on Manchester Startups 2.0.
The inaugural Manchester Startups 2.0 list recognised fledgling founder-led companies which are bootstrapped, pre-seed or angel-backed, and either building or harnessing a unique technology.
