FundingHero, a provider of funding support for startups, has launched its in-person fundraising accelerator for founders in and around Birmingham.

The 12-week programme, set to begin on March 30th, will provide 20 selected founders with the resources and support they need to accelerate their growth and increase their chances of successfully raising external funding.

It will guide participants through the six pillars of fundraising, providing them with a deeper understanding of their businesses’ 3-5 year roadmap and arming them with a financial strategy to execute for their journey.

Cohorts of up to 20 participants will be based in Birmingham city centre. The programme will be led by Jim Shirley, an experienced CFO with a proven track record of raising millions in debt and equity and helping businesses achieve exits for hundreds of millions through private equity or trade sale.

Shirley will be joined by a panel of experts in fundraising such as investors, legal and debt providers, that will give the founders a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from.

‘Don’t take knockbacks personally’

The programme will cover everything startup founders need to know about fundraising, including strategy, investment landscape, investment materials, financials, valuations and due diligence.

“We are thrilled to be launching this programme in Birmingham,” said Shirley, founder of FundingHero. “We believe that the region is home to some of the most innovative and ambitious founders in the country, and it’s essential that they get the support they need to succeed given the current strain on the wider economy.”

FundingHero is accepting applications for its first cohort, which is set to commence on March 30th. Early bird discounts of £1,000 are available until February 28th.

The programme is open to all sectors and businesses that have a product in the market and are consistently revenue-generating, with a fundraising goal of up to £1 million.
