i6 Group has passed a key milestone after tracking and optimising 100 billion litres of fuel.
The company, based in Farnborough, provides smarter, greener fuel management operations at airports. It featured on our sister publication BusinessCloud’s TransportTech 50 ranking late last year.
i6 Group, which is co-led by COO Alex Mattos, was founded in 2013. It offers a real-time platform for fuel inventory and accounting, into-plane refuelling, refueller-airline communication (e-fuelling), and key information dashboards for airlines and suppliers.
eHandshake is its proprietary fuelling technology. It allows the pilot to interact digitally with the refueller, allowing for quicker and paperless refuelling and a 50% reduced risk of over-fuelling. It is used by Virgin Atlantic, among others.
i6 Group has expanded its operations from the UK across EMEA, North America, Asia and Oceania – working with the world’s largest airlines and fuel suppliers at many major airports.
Closer to home, its solutions at Manchester Airport now also allow it to receive real-time data via feed integrations thanks to its Fusion6 platform.
“Advanced technology is key in finding efficiency and sustainability gains throughout the refuelling process,” said Steve Uhrmacher, CEO.
“It’s a pleasure to bring our technology to Manchester and we look forward to rolling out eHandshake – helping to create a smarter and more sustainable airport.”
The company was selected for Tech Nation’s Upscale growth programme last year.
