Cybersecurity firm Bridewell is celebrating its 10-year anniversary of protecting and transforming critical business functions for highly regulated sectors.
The Reading company led by co-CEOs Anthony Young and Scott Nicholson now employs 200 experienced, industry-certified security experts and has recorded sustained year-on-year growth.
Since 2019, Bridewell has experienced a remarkable 607% increase in headcount which includes strengthening of the board with Martin Riley joining as director of managed security services and Emma Leith as director of consulting.
Last year, Bridewell expanded its reach further by opening an office in Houston’s Energy Corridor in Texas following investment from strategic partner Growth Capital Partners in 2021.
“While we are thrilled to be celebrating our 10-year anniversary, in many ways our mission has only just begun,” said Young. “The cybersecurity landscape has changed drastically over the last decade, with current threats and trends combining with increasingly complex regulatory demands to bring us to a crucial point in CNI (Centre of Protection for National Infrastructure) security.“
The company’s technical expertise, strategic insight and holistic approach to cybersecurity has helped to protect some of the largest organisations in the world, including Manchester Airport Group and the UK Census 2021.

The past decade has seen CNI cyber security rising to prominence as a global concern, with higher volumes of threats and new, innovative attack vectors significantly outpacing regulation, policies and strategies.
Bridewell research reveals that over 7 in 10 cyber security decision makers across UK CNI have seen a rise in cyber attacks since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022, as the tactics, tools, and motives of nation state threat actors continue to evolve.

In 2022, Bridewell became the first carbon negative cybersecurity firm in the UK, spearheading a combination of initiatives including a switch to renewable energy, climate projects and carbon offsetting.
